La sigillata italica da un contesto del Quartiere centrale di Nora. Indicatori cronologici ed economici

Abstract

La carenza dei dati sulle dinamiche economiche di Nora nel corso dell’età augustea e del I sec.d.C. riflette una frammentarietà degli studi che fortunatamente si è andata a colmare nell’ultimo decennio. Nel caso del quartiere centrale la sigillata italica offre un importante fossile guida per la determinazione della fase. La maggior parte del vasellame individuato nelle stratigrafie del quartiere è riferibile alla fase media e tarda della produzione, dalla fine del I sec. a.C. fino a tutto il I sec. d.C., con una spiccata presenza di esemplari collocabili tra la media età augustea e l’età neroniana.

The lack of data on the economic dynamics of Nora during the Augustan age and the first century AD reflects a fragmentation of the studies which fortunately went to fill the last decade. In the case of the Nora’ central quarter the Italian sigillata offers an important fossil guide for the determination of the period. Most of the pottery found in the layers of the area is attributable to the middle and late stage of production, from the end of the first century B.C. until the end of the first century A.D., with a strong presence of specimens dated between the Augustan age and the age of Nero.
