Intorno al nuraghe: notizie preliminari sul progetto S'Urachi (San Vero Milis, OR)

Abstract

a prima relazione preliminare sul Progetto S'Urachi (San Vero Milis, OR) presenta gli obiettivi del progetto per lo studio dell'eta del Ferro e delle successive fasi di eta storica del primo millennio a.C., e delinea le vane attivita di ricerca realizzate durante le prime campagne di lavoro (2013-15). Si tratta in pri-mo luogo di scavi stratigrafici in due aree all'estemo dell'antemurale del complesso nuragico e di un minuzioso rilevamento e analisi architettonica dell'antemurale. La zona intomo al nuraghe 6 stata indagata con una prospezione magnetometrica e una raccolta sistematica di reperti presenti in superficie, mentre it territorio circostante è stato documentato con ricognizioni pedologiche e geomorfologiche per valutare it po-tenziale agronomico del territorio.

The first preliminary report on the S'Urachi Project (San Vero Milis, OR) sets out the project aims to investigate the Iron Age and subsequent historical periods of the first millennium BC, and describes the research activities undertaken in the first three campaigns (2013-15). These include first of all stratigraphic excavation of two areas immediately outside the outer defensive wall of the nuraghe, and a detailed standing building survey and architectural analysis of the surviving extent of that wall. The wider area around the nuraghe was explored through a magnetometer survey and systematic surface clearing and collection of surface finds, while a soil and geomorphological survey mapped the surrounding territory to evaluate its land use and agrarian potential.
