L'insediamento del nuraghe Pidighi di Solarussa (OR). Scavi 1998-2008

Abstract

Lo scavo dell’insediamento del nuraghe Pidighi ha interessato una superficie di grande
estensione. Ciò consente un’interpretazione attendibile dello sviluppo strutturale complessivo: dalle
abitazioni circolari isolate o accoppiate alle case complesse, fino alla muraglia continua di delimitazione
con torrette sporgenti e alle strutture più precarie che suddividono gli spazi interni. Lo sviluppo
edilizio riflette il ciclico formarsi e disfarsi delle famiglie, con una progressiva intensificazione dovuta
all’incremento demografico entro uno spazio nettamente delimitato. Inoltre le strutture e attrezzature
domestiche documentano usanze e attività che dovevano costituire fattori distintivi di demarcazione
culturale tra comunità territoriali.

The excavation of the settlement of nuraghe Pidighi affected a large area. That allows a reliable
interpretation for the general building development: from the round dwellings, single or coupled,
to the complex houses, to the continuous enclosure wall with projecting towers and the rather precarious
structures which subdivide the inner spaces. The building development reflects the cyclic family
formation and break-up, with an increasing intensification due to the demographic growth inside a
clearly bounded space. Moreover the household structures and equipment document customs and activities
which had to be distinctive factors of cultural demarcation among territorial communities.
